Guest prabum01 Report post Posted 01/30/2010 02:24 PM Hi, Im using Donjin cards(Not a JCT series), problem is Iam unable get the caller ID in the voice guide, Iam using a direct line without any PBX connection, should I use PBX configured line instead?. I have attached the log file for your guidance. 0130_1918_vgEngine.txt Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 01/30/2010 09:19 PM Most PBXs do not forward the Caller ID data in same way as telephone companies do. Some PBXs can forward CallerID data using Inband Signaling instead. It all depends on what your PBX supports. The Donjin card would support Inband Signaling detection (it's just DTMF tones), but you would need to check its documentation to see what Telco CallerID signaling it detects. For VoiceGuide inband signaling configuration please see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/html/inbandsignaling.htm Share this post Link to post
Guest prabum01 Report post Posted 01/31/2010 02:47 PM So the Voice Guide can work only with PBX configured telephone lines and not with Direct telephone line in retrieving the Caller ID? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 01/31/2010 07:35 PM VoiceGuide does receive CallerID from Direct/Telco telephone lines. Most systems that rely on receiving & using CallerID use lines direct from Telco instead of passing them through PBX. Share this post Link to post
Guest prabum01 Report post Posted 02/01/2010 06:11 AM Hi Guys, I am using Direct line from Telco, still I am not able get the caller id, also I have used a sample Inband Signaling Definition File(Donjin.txt) which is attached for guidance, please check and revert as soon as possible. My Donjin card version is this Donjin Cti Card (Dw-081A / M2-T). Should do some modifications to this Inband Signaling Definition File(Donjin.txt) Donjin.txt 0201_1140_vgEngine.txt 0201_ktTel.txt 0201_ktTts.txt Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/01/2010 08:44 AM Telco rarely sends CallerID using Inband Signalling. Which Telco are you using? Do you know what encoding your Telco uses to send CallerID data? (eg. many US telcos use "Bellcore FSK") Do you know at what time your Telco sends the CallerID data? (eg. most US telcos send it between the first and second ring) Do you know what Caller ID encoding methods are detected by your Donjin card? First thing to try would be to have your calls answered after the 2nd ring, and see if this results in the CallerID data being reported. Share this post Link to post
Guest prabum01 Report post Posted 02/02/2010 09:24 AM Note we have upgraded our Donjin card to JCT Series(DN161AJCT 4T analog board). Yet we cant get the Caller ID... Which Telco are you using? BSNL (India) Do you know what encoding your Telco uses to send CallerID data? (eg. many US telcos use "Bellcore FSK") In India most of the telecom operators are using DTMF Do you know at what time your Telco sends the CallerID data? (eg. most US telcos send it between the first and second ring) Caller ID is sent between the first and second ring(I get a half ring first and in between the second full ring, the caller ID is sent) Do you know what Caller ID encoding methods are detected by your Donjin card? (?) The below answer was given by Donjin Donjin support both DTMF and FSK,Based on the input we use separate API functions for both. Need to check set at Voice Guide based on the Telco operator Encoding. First thing to try would be to have your calls answered after the 2nd ring, and see if this results in the CallerID data being reported. The Voice Guide Doesn't pick up the call when I set it to 2 rings, but it is able to pick the call when I set it as 1 What should I do now? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/02/2010 10:20 PM Please post traces (ktTel and vgEngine) capturing the software startup and an incoming call (with VG set to answer after 2 rings). We can then see what is happening on the system. Share this post Link to post

SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/03/2010 07:42 AM Trace shows only one Ring event reported by Donjin, and shows that Donjin is not reporting any DTMF tones being heard on the line after the DTMF tone. Is this Telco sending DTMF encoded CallerID if the call is picked up immediately after first ring? You can test this by just manually releasing the onhook button while listening to the handset and seeing if any DTMF tones can be heard. A Dialogic card would just report any DTMF tones heard between first and second ring, and VoiceGuide is deigned to use the DTMF tones received in between the RINGS as part of the CallerID signaling string. We have sites which use Dialogic cards and function this way. 124930.031 3000 1 CtEventProcess idx=5 : evttype=134(134), crn=0, data=09E57F38(08A70830), len=4(4) q: 0/0 124930.031 3000 1 ev TDX_CST (CST Event Received) 124930.031 3000 1 TDX_CST DE_RINGS data=226 ringcount=1 crn=10000001 (hli=0CA00430, hli->voicedev=1, hli->linedev=1) iCallDirection=1 124930.031 3000 1 GetCallerIdInfo_OnAnalogLines begin 124930.031 3000 1 CLIDINFO_CMPLT returned 124930.031 3000 1 CLIDINFO_CMPLT error [128]:[caller ID info/sub-msg not available] 124930.031 3000 1 CLIDINFO_GENERAL error [128]:[caller ID info/sub-msg not available] 124930.031 3000 1 CLIDINFO_CALLID error [128]:[caller ID info/sub-msg not available] assign strCLIDINFO_CALLID: 124930.031 3000 1 setting strCLIDINFO_CALLID to NOTAVAILABLE 124930.031 3000 1 CLIDINFO_FRAMETYPE error [128]:[caller ID info/sub-msg not available] 124930.031 3000 1 caller id frame type: UNKNOWN [0x00] 124930.031 3000 1 info ktTel_Donjin_NADK181 v7.1.0, build: Jan 8 2010 17:05:44 124930.031 3000 1 CTelProxy::Event_CallState DE_RINGS iLineCallState=2, hCall=268435457 m_pktTelProxyClient=007916C0 124930.031 3000 1 r CallState DE_RINGS 124930.031 3000 1 CTelProxy::Event_Ring begin (ring count=1) 124930.031 3000 1 r Ring 1 124930.031 3000 1 r Dialogic TDX_CST 134 (0 0 0 DE_RINGS ET_RON ) 124935.109 3888 1 iTimer_RingsGoAway=100 124945.000 3888 1 iTimer_RingsGoAway=0 => Event_Ring(0) 124945.000 3888 1 iTimer_RingsGoAway=0 => Event_Ring(0) 124945.000 3000 1 CTelProxy::Event_Ring begin (ring count=0) 124945.000 3000 1 r Ring 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest prabum01 Report post Posted 02/04/2010 05:44 AM Is this is a problem with Donjin card or voice guide. My telco is sending DTMF encoded CallerID. Or any configuration settings to be done? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/04/2010 07:07 AM At this stage it looks like an issue with Donjin. Donjin claims to be functionally equivalent to Dialogic, yet in this situation the Donjin is not reporting the DTMF tones, whereas the Dialogic card is reporting them (as can be seen in this support forum thread: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6555 ) Both the Dialogic card and Donjin are configured by VoiceGuide in the same way.
