MarceloVigil Report post Posted 12/07/2003 08:45 PM Hello, I've installed the version 5.1.4 on a Windows 2000 Server with SP4 and it worked perfectly, but I applied the microsoft updates and suddenly it doesn't work any more. I've detected that in the UNIMODEM HALF-DUPLEX AUDIO DEVICE the MODEM WAVE DRIVER has a message: "Status: Driver is enabled but not functioning properly". I'm using a US Robotics Voice Modem. Here you have a copy of the VoiceGuide Log: 172907.84 0 callstate OFFERING 65996 0 4 172907.85 0 Answer the call at 12/7/2003 5:29:07 PM 172907.85 0 lineAnswer(65996) => 65979 172907.86 0 ring 1 172907.86 0 callstate ACCEPTED 65996 0 0 172911.23 0 tapi Reply (LineEvReply) ok 65979 0 172911.24 0 callstate CONNECTED 65996,0,0 172911.24 0 WorkingModeTAPI@Connected= 172911.24 0 WorkingModeScript@Connected= 172911.25 0 Inband detection not enabled 172911.26 0 StartLoadedVgs at 12/7/2003 5:29:11 PM 172911.26 0 [Welcome] Number Input 172911.27 0 [Welcome] Playing (VmailSysWelc.wav) 172911.28 0 PlaySoundStart err=[0 play PlaySoundStart ResetWavOutAndContinuePlay=>2] file[VmailSysWelc.wav] 172911.29 0 PlaySoundStart line[0] err=[0 wavec waveOutOpen(0x0, 0x0, 0x210cf0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1) => 2 (MMSYSERR_BADDEVICEID) - format query] [C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\system\voice\ErrorPlayingFile.wav] 172911.30 0 Hanging up call... SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/07/2003 11:30 PM Sounds like the cards Wave drivers are not correctly installed - can you try removing all the wave drives on your system (including any sound card drivers) and then re-installing the wave drivers for your telephony device first. Try calling in after doing this, and if the sound can be heard over the phone you can then try to re-install your sound card drivers. To remove other wave drivers got to Control Panel, double clock on System, select the Device Manager tab and go to Sound/Video/Game Controllers entry - then delete all other wave drivers. You may have to disable the sound card altogether as well to stop Windows from automatically loading it's drivers - to do this just select "Disable" and then select "Uninstall" from the Device Manager. MarceloVigil Report post Posted 12/07/2003 11:49 PM I've tried but it didn't work. Right now I'm reinstalling the windows with the sound card disabled to see what happen. Can you tell me what kind of license I need to make the following?: * The VG will be installed in 1 computer with 1 voice modem. * When you call-in it plays you the options: Press (1) to product A -> and it sends/forward you to an specific extension Press (2) to product A -> and it sends/forward you to an specific extension Press (3) to send a FAX * I need that in the case that an extension do not answer, send the call to a voicemail. * I need a general voicemail to calls outside the company hours. thanks in advance, Marcelo Vigil Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/08/2003 12:19 AM 1 line Pro license should be all that you need here, but if you need to make call transfers I'd strongly recommend using a Dialogic card... Share this post Link to post
MarceloVigil Report post Posted 12/08/2003 12:26 AM 1) I have a fresh install of Windows 2000 Server and I have the same problem... could be related to the fact that my modem is PnP? Yesterday was working perfectly... 2) Can I translate the Voicemail messages? 3) Does VG detect a non answer in a transfer? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/08/2003 12:33 AM could be related to the fact that my modem is PnP? The wave drivers can be problematic sometimes... if things don't work then disabing all other wave drivers usually gets them working... 2) Can I translate the Voicemail messages? sure, just re-record them... 3) Does VG detect a non answer in a transfer? Yes, just use the 'announced' call transfer option. Share this post Link to post
MarceloVigil Report post Posted 12/08/2003 07:59 AM What are the trial version limitations? i'll try to do what I've specified to you and I want to know if the trial is by time or if it has less fetures enabled. thanks, Marcelo Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/08/2003 08:40 AM What are the trial version limitations? listed on page: http://voiceguide.com/vgFeatures.htm Trial version limitations: Needs restarting every 1 hour. VG Dialer will only call up to 10 telephone numbers. 20 module script limit. Can control 4 lines. Apart from the just stated, all features of Enterprise version available. MarceloVigil Report post Posted 12/09/2003 06:58 AM With the professional version you suggested can we change the voicemail messages? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/09/2003 07:25 AM All sound files which are used by the voicemail system can be changed in all versions of VoiceGuide. (This of course includes the personalized welcome messages for individual mailboxes) The Enterprise version also allows you to edit the .VGS scripts themselves which are used to implement the entire voicemail system. MarceloVigil Report post Posted 01/21/2004 12:17 PM I've just tried with the instructions on that site but VoiceGuide doesn't work... I'm going to give up trying... SupportTeam Report post Posted 01/21/2004 01:00 PM Just by looking through this very forum you should be able to see that a large proportion of VoiceGuide users use VG successfully with a wide range of Voice Modems... why do you say that "it does not work with voice modems" ? In the first post of this thread you said: I've installed the version 5.1.4 on a Windows 2000 Server with SP4 and it worked perfectly, but I applied the Microsoft updates and suddenly it doesn't work any more. so it looks like something in the Microsoft updates 'broke' the USR modem's Wave driver configuration... The actual problem that is happening on your system now can be seen in the trace: call to Windows function waveOutOpen returns MMSYSERR_NODRIVER - so it's Windows that is telling VoiceGuide that "this voice modem does not have a sound driver". Most of the time these problems are resolved by getting updated drivers from then modem manufacturer... some modems just do not set up their Wave drivers well and the only solution is to change Windows service packs or to start using a different modem... Voice modems have other problems and limitations - that is why we usually recommend using a Dialogic card instead... Share this post Link to post
