ktruk Report post Posted 11/17/2005 12:36 PM Can you please tell me what is the correct setting in the CONFIG.XML file for a Dialogic BRI/2VFD card for Euro-ISDN (CTR3 or CTR4) and what the channel "Name(s)" are for the four B channels on the card: Current settings do not appear to work (ie: not answer a call). Board is started and has been working okay with TAPI VG. Hopefully log files listed below will help. Thanx. SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/17/2005 10:10 PM I think you need to change the <NetworkIf> device names - see the sample T1/E1 config.xml files. They would need to be: <NetworkIf>dtiB1T1</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>dtiB1T2</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>dtiB1T3</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>dtiB1T4</NetworkIf> Your local Intel/Dialogic reseller would know what protocol to use for your local Telco's BRI lines. ktruk Report post Posted 11/17/2005 10:32 PM The local ISDN protocol delivered on BRI lines by my telco (British Telecom) is definately "Euro-ISDN" - this has been set in the Device Manager properties for the Dialogic card. However, what is the <protocol> section in the Config.xml set for? Is this the Global Call "package codename" ? So I guess all I need (!) is the Euro/Uk ISDN BRI global-call code. I will try the channel allocation first and get back to you. Thanks. (PS: After several attempts to contact Intel Dialogic here in the UK, it is an impossible task!) Share this post Link to post
ktruk Report post Posted 11/18/2005 09:01 AM Changing the Config.xml to the names you gave does not work. If the <NetworkIF> is set to "dtiB1T1" that channel does not get listed when VG starts, nor any others set, eg: ...t2, ...t3, etc. The only time a channel gets listed in VGs channel list is when they are named: DxxxB1C1, etc. Please note, this card is a Basic Rate Interface card (BRI) - not a Primary Rate (T1/E1) card. The exact model number is BRI/2VFD. The names you gave look relevent for a "T1" type span card. I have asked previously if this card is supported under Vg4Dialogic and have been given explicit confirmation by yourselves and this hardware has been bought on your assurances. Please help me, I have an urgent need to get this working now. Thanks. confirmation: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3246 Share this post Link to post
ktruk Report post Posted 11/23/2005 09:10 PM Can I ask for a response to the above please? Thanks. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/24/2005 01:21 AM Try using these network interface names: <NetworkIf>briS1T1</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>briS1T2</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>briS2T1</NetworkIf> <NetworkIf>briS2T2</NetworkIf> Share this post Link to post
ktruk Report post Posted 11/25/2005 02:42 PM Doesn't work either. When I set these values into the config.xml file, when VG starts, it refuses to startup, saying that the system is not configured, then it tries to run the configurator, but fails, then VG exits, sometimes with a "GPF/Serious system error". The config.xml file is set like: <Channel> <Name>briS1T1</Name> <NetworkIf>briS1T1</NetworkIf> <Protocol>ISDN</Protocol> <RingsBeforeAnswer>0</RingsBeforeAnswer> <script>C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\Internet Portal\Test2.vgs</Script> <ConfigLine></ConfigLine> <AllowDialOut>1</AllowDialOut> <PopupCallerId>0</PopupCallerId> <RV></RV> </Channel> If is set the channel spec to "dxxxB1Cx" then the board starts and each of the 4 channels is listed in the VG console... <Channel> <Name>dxxxB1C1</Name> <NetworkIf>dxxxB1C1</NetworkIf> <Protocol>ISDN</Protocol> <RingsBeforeAnswer>0</RingsBeforeAnswer> <script>C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\Internet Portal\Test2.vgs</Script> <ConfigLine></ConfigLine> <AllowDialOut>1</AllowDialOut> <PopupCallerId>0</PopupCallerId> <RV></RV> </Channel> BUT IT WON'T ANSWER ANY CALLS If I set it like this: mixing the name and network if, then it starts: <Name>dxxxB1C1</Name> <NetworkIf>briS1T1</NetworkIf> BUT get error messages: err gc gc_OpenEx(:N_briS1T1:P_ISDN) error (opening digital line) failed, gc(0x90) - ... (can't see any more details on the console) From reading the Dialogic doc, the Bri/2vfd emulates a standard springware voice card in many respects. Does this help? From the ISDN Software Reference section 2.1: ...The BrI/2 boards provide analog voice processing, via the Dialogic Voice Functions (see note 1 below) and the dialogic ISDN API... Looking at the DCM configuration files, I get the following details for the card from the voxcfg_ctms file: # # Dialogic Generic Configuration File # # # Total number of virtual boards - 4 # # # Board Type - BRI/2 # dxxxB1 4 20A0009 C E1000000 2000 0 SPAN briS1 2 20A0009 T E1000000 2000 0 T1SPAN 0 briS2 2 20A0009 T E1000000 2000 0 T1SPAN 1 briD1 4 20A0009 C E1000000 2000 0 BRIDATA The card is started in the DCM (starts and stops without problems). I have reinstalled 5.1.1 fp1, with Service update 85 and still no joy. I can run ISDIAG with the card, I can make a call, but haven't worked out yet what else to test. If I run the same card with ComISDN and Vg4TAPI it works - so I know the card is good. I have found an Intel/Dialogic PTR which states that: Problem Tracking Report #25959: Bri/2vfd does not work anymore with the GlobalCall API - mar 2004 - Some events are received anymore. For example GCEV_CONNECTED... If I understand correctly, Global Call standardises all the various Dialogic APIs into one call library and if GC is using calls that are no longer supported by the card, then I guess it will never work. Please look at the above PTR and ask your programmers to verify that the GC calls are valid for this card. Please, please, this is getting extremely vital now, can you tell me what I need to do to get this card online with VG? Thank you. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/25/2005 10:46 PM If I run the same card with ComISDN and Vg4TAPI it works Probably best to just stick with using this combination then. ComISDN approach is used by all other sites running on 2 channel Basic Rate cards. Looks like the Problem Tracking Report #25959 you found explains why there are problems with using this card directly. Share this post Link to post
ktruk Report post Posted 11/26/2005 11:55 AM I would be happy to use ComISDN if it did call-transfer, but it is supposed to do call-transfer by call-bridging two lines together on a Dialogic card (which I don't really want) and I can't get it work anyway. So although it works for playback/dtmf and recording, I can't use it at the moment. I was hoping (perhaps foolishly) that Vg for Dialogic would solve this problem and provide call transfer functionality. As previously mentioned, I have already invested quite a sum in the Dialogic cards and hours of time, based on your previous recommendations, so I am very unhappy that I have no concrete understanding as to why I've wasted my money. So, finally, to close off this issue... 1. Could you ask the programmer(s) to take a look at the "PTR" above and confirm that the specific calls mentioned are the ones that VG uses? From my limited understanding, their is no problem if the supported calls are used. 2. Can you confirm that if the VG console lists the channles "dxxxB1C1...C4" and "waiting for call" then VG is happy with the channel allocation codes? 3. Is there any diagnostic or config information that confirms the operation (or non operation) of the cards? 4. Can you confirm that there is no other "BRI" solution available with VG for Dialogic and that the only way forward is VG for TAPI (either Eicon/Tapi or Capi/Tapi with ComISDN). SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/06/2005 10:17 PM A working solution for this customer was found using an Eicon BRI card. See end of this thread: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3453 Share this post Link to post
